SHIFT-MED consortium meeting
We are pleased to share that today, the SHIFT-MED consortium successfully held a coordination meeting to review and finalize the draft agenda of the “Governance Workshops for Twin Transition in Universities” — a key component of the project’s Capacity Building activities.
The finalized training programme, scheduled for 4–15 May 2026 and delivered in hybrid format, represents a major milestone in advancing institutional capacity for green and digital transformation in higher education
The programme is structured into two main sessions:

Session 1 (May 4–5, 2026)
Focused on Stakeholder Engagement, Innovation Ecosystems, and Sustainable Development, participants will explore:
• The role of ecosystems in driving innovation and collaboration
• Governance models for sustainable entrepreneurship
• Interactive simulations (TEEG Business Game) to strengthen decision-making
• The evolution of sustainable development and the role of Higher Education Institutions in achieving the SDGs
Session 2 (May 7–8, 2026)
Dedicated to Strategic Planning, Sustainability Leadership, and Institutional Governance, the sessions will cover:
• Development of institutional sustainability strategies
• Stakeholder mapping and engagement tools
• Leadership, change management, and diversity in sustainability governance
• Implementation of international frameworks such as ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems
Through a combination of expert-led training, case studies, and interactive group work, the programme will empower Sustainability Committee members and institutional leaders to translate strategy into concrete, measurable actions for sustainable campus transformation.
Today’s meeting played a crucial role in aligning partners on the content, structure, and delivery approach, ensuring that the training responds effectively to institutional needs across the Mediterranean region.
SHIFT-MED continues to take strong steps towards building resilient, sustainable, and future-ready universities.
Stay tuned as we move closer to the implementation phase!
