SHIFT-MED Newsletter 02 Is Out Now: Discover Eight Months of Progress Across the Mediterranean

A New Edition, Eight Months of Progress

The second edition of the SHIFT-MED Newsletter is now available, bringing together the key achievements and developments from February to September 2026. This new issue follows the project’s journey from its initial launch towards concrete institutional action, highlighting progress in green governance, capacity building, institutional sustainability, digital innovation and green curriculum development across partner institutions in Tunisia, Palestine, Türkiye and Europe.
Inside Newsletter 02: Building Capacity for the Twin Transition

The second page takes readers inside the Governance Workshops for Twin Transition in Universities, one of SHIFT-MED’s major capacity-building milestones. The newsletter highlights how participants worked on stakeholder engagement, innovation ecosystems, the SDGs, strategic planning, sustainability leadership, institutional governance and ISO 14001, supported by interactive exercises and practical institutional work. Discover how these workshops helped turn sustainability concepts into practical tools for institutional transformation.
Coordinating the Next Steps: Green Curricula and the SHIFT-MED Platform

Newsletter 02 also provides an overview of the 1st Online Transnational Project Meeting held on 2–3 September 2026. Readers can discover how partners reviewed their Institutional Sustainability Strategies, advanced T2.4 – Academic Priorities for Green Curricula, explored new and updated courses and discussed the proposed SHIFT-MED digital platform. The meeting established a shared roadmap for consultations, responsibilities, outputs and the next implementation milestones.
From Committees to Action: Discover the Partners’ Sustainability Priorities

The final page showcases how SHIFT-MED partners are moving from capacity building towards institution-specific sustainability action. Newsletter 02 presents the emerging priorities of partner institutions, from sustainability governance, climate action and resource efficiency to green campuses, education, research, community engagement and progress towards ISO 14001 readiness. Together, these strategies illustrate how a shared SHIFT-MED vision is being adapted to different institutional and regional realities across the Mediterranean.
