SHIFT-MED Sustainability Committee Advances Green Curriculum Priorities at the University of Kairouan
As part of the SHIFT-MED project, the Sustainability Committee at the Higher Institute of Management and Computer Science of Kairouan (ISIGK), University of Kairouan, held a coordination meeting on 12 September 2026within Activity T2.4 – Define Academic Priorities for Green Curricula.
The meeting represented another concrete step in translating SHIFT-MED’s sustainability objectives into institutional and academic action, bringing together academic priorities, curriculum development and institutional sustainability planning.

The meeting provided an important opportunity for the Sustainability Committee to review the progress of SHIFT-MED activities and discuss how the project’s green transition objectives can be embedded more systematically within ISIGK.
Particular attention was given to the proposed ISIGK Sustainability Strategy, which was discussed and validated during the meeting. The Committee also addressed the importance of stronger institutional coordination in supporting the Institute’s green transition and ensuring that sustainability becomes part of longer-term institutional practices.
Defining Academic Priorities for Green Curricula
A central focus of the meeting was T2.4 – Define Academic Priorities for Green Curricula. Committee members discussed ISIGK’s academic priorities and considered how green and sustainability-oriented competencies could be incorporated more effectively into academic programmes.
These discussions contribute to the next stage of SHIFT-MED’s academic transformation process by connecting institutional sustainability objectives with teaching and learning. The work under T2.4 will help provide a foundation for identifying areas in which existing academic provision can be strengthened through green and sustainability-related knowledge, skills and competencies.

By bringing together sustainability strategy, academic priorities and institutional coordination, the meeting helped strengthen the link between governance and curriculum transformation.
